First Aid

St. John Ambulance India is the Indian branch of St. John Ambulance, an international organization involved in medical first aid and ambulance services. It has two operational wings, the Association Wing and the Brigade Wing, and its emblems are registered under the Emblems and Names Act XII of 1950.

St. John Ambulance Association was established in 1912 and St. John Ambulance Brigade in 1928 in India.

It has its national headquarters in Delhi and operates as a federation. There are two operational wings often called the Association Wing (which delivers first aid training) and the Brigade Wing (which delivers first aid at public events).
First-Aid is the assistance given to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from getting worse, and/or promote recovery.

  • Reduce the number of deaths, injuries from disasters or any other emergency
  • Increase the capacity of students and communities in first aid response, and broaden their scope to develop the humanitarian response at the time of any emergency
